The legacy infrastructure still stands as one of the major challenges in the process. Most of the insurers use the systems developed at various stages of technological development. Moreover, risk data is stored in such departments as underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance, and compliance.
Prevention Becomes A Strategic Priority
The next phase will place greater emphasis on preventing losses rather than simply financing them afterward. Property monitoring, catastrophe mitigation, cybersecurity controls and other preventive measures can influence the probability and severity of insured events.
They should also consider whether the system can support scenario analysis across business units rather than creating another isolated repository of risk information.
There is an evolution towards continuous risk intelligence. Insurers will be monitoring their portfolios more often and adjusting decisions based on changing scenarios.
